HC Deb 21 October 1991 vol 196 c458W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list for the latest date he has available how many InterCity 225s have been cancelled on the east coast route between(a) Scotland/north-east England-London King's Cross and (b) London King's Cross-Scotland/north-east England routes.

Mr. Freeman

Since the introduction of InterCity 225 services on 8 July, I understand that four Scotland/London and five London/Scotland services have been cancelled. This represents less than 0.5 per cent. of the scheduled service.

Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list for the last 12 months how many InterCity 225 services have been cancelled on the(a) Leeds/Bradford-London King's Cross and (b) London King's Cross-Leeds/Bradford service.

Mr. Freeman

During the last 12 months both 125 and 225 services have been operated on the London-Leeds/ Bradford route. A breakdown of cancellations between 125 and 225 services is not available. Taking both services together, I understand that over this period 58 London-Leeds/Bradford and 69 Leeds/Bradford-London services were cancelled. This represents approximately 1 per cent. of the scheduled service.
