HC Deb 21 October 1991 vol 196 c438W
Mr. Nellist

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what is his estimate of the number of attendance allowances in payment for children under the age of two years at the latest convenient date.

Mr. Scott

The information requested is not available. Such information as is held shows that between April 1990, when the lower age limit in attendance allowance was abolished, and the end of September this year there have been 8,400' awards of AA for children under two years.

Note:1 This figure includes any second and subsequent awards, awards made to children who are now over two years and awards no longer in payment.
