§ Mr. MellorThe estimated level of overseas direct and portfolio investment by United Kingdom residents at the end of 1990 was £312 billion, compared with £44 billion at the end of 1979. The interest, profits and dividends received by United Kingdom residents from direct and portfolio investment overseas in 1990 were £25.9 billion.
