To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many man hours on average are required for applications for each type of grant and subsidy to be processed by his regional offices.

The table below sets out the numbers of applications and claims processed under the principal grant and subsidy schemes in 1990–91, together with the man years devoted to the overall administration of these schemes in my regional organisation. Technical input by ADAS staff is not included.
