To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what steps Her Majesty's Government are taking to promote the implementation of total quality management standards by British companies.

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will make a statement on Government initiatives to support the implementation of total quality management standards.

Mr. Leigh

The Government are actively promoting total quality management through their "Managing into the '90s" awareness programme and through assisted consultancies under the consultancy help scheme.
