HL Deb 14 October 1991 vol 531 cc97-8WA
Lord Denning

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Following the two Answers of the Earl Ferrers on 24th July (WA 64–5) whether, if Sections 1 (3) and 13 of the Charities Act 1960 do not appear to be of the kind referred to in Section 2 (4) of the Education Act 1973, they will give illustrations of the kind that are referred to therein.

The Minister of State, Department of the Environment (Baroness Blatch)

Orders under Section 2 of the Education Act 1973 are made in respect of the endowments of discontinued denominational voluntary schools. Examples of the provisions affecting such endowments under public general Acts of Parliament therefore are Sections 2 and 14 of the School Sites Act 1841, Section 1 of the School Grants Act 1855, and paragraphs 7 and 8 of schedule 1 to the Education Act 946.
