asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will update the information in their written reply to the Lord Hylton of 2nd July 199 (WA. 57) concerning asylum-seekers in detention.

Earl Ferrers

As at 15th November 1991, some 150 people detained under Immigration Act powers had sought asylum, of whom about 60 were in immigration service accommodation. Most of the rest were in prisons, including Haslar.
