§ Mr. RooneyTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the cost of implementing training credits.
Mr. JacksonThe training credits initiative is a partnership involving expenditure from many different sources, including employers. In 1990–91, the cost to the Department of developing the training credits pilot schemes was £4.8 million. Planned provision for the 11 pilot schemes in the first full year of operation, 1991–92, is £122 million. This does not take account of administrative costs incurred by the Department and the training and enterprise councils and local enterprise company delivering training credits.
§ Mr. RooneyTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what sums have been spent on advertising training credits(a) to employers and (b) to trainees.
