To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the cost of the production and distribution of the leaflet, "Your NHS, Our Pledge", which was produced by South West Thames regional health authority.

Mr. Dorrell

A total of 7,000 copies of the leaflet "Your NHS, Our Pledge" were produced and distributed by South West Thames regional health authority at a cost of £2,181. Its purpose is to demonstrate the firm commitment of chairmen in that region to improving patient care through the charter.
