HC Deb 21 November 1991 vol 199 cc269-70W
Mr. McMaster

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish a table showing the amount of(a) sheltered and (b) special needs housing built by (i) district councils, (ii) Scottish Homes or its predecessor, (iii) housing associations and (iv) the private sector, in each year since 1979; and if he will make a statement.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Information on housebuilding by user category is not available for the years prior to 1986, and could be extracted only at disproportionate cost. The latest available information on sheltered and special needs housing built by district councils and the private sector is set out in the tables. Information on Scottish Homes, and its predecessor, and on housing associations, is not available in the precise form requested. I will write to the hon. Member about this.
