HC Deb 20 November 1991 vol 199 cc156-7W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many structures in(a) the Solent area and (b) the United Kingdom are going to be fitted with the new white strobe lights under the International Civil Aviation Organisation requirement.

Mr. McLoughlin

The application of the International Civil Aviation Organisation requirements for the lighting of aeronautical obstructions, is a matter for the Civil Aviation Authority, which has the statutory responsibility for the safety regulation of civil aviation within the United Kingdom. I have drawn the hon. Member's question to the attention of the Civil Aviation Authority and have asked it to write to him direct.
