To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many people in the Province are awaiting an organ transplant; if he will give the figure for 1990; and how long on average patient; wait for a transplant of a kidney, heart and lungs, heart, lung, liver and cornea.

There are at present in Northern Ireland 72 patients waiting for a kidney transplant and about 30 waiting for corneal grafting. The remaining information requested is not readily available.
