To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many people in each district council area are(a) registered as homeless or (b) on the housing waiting list.

(a) People do not register as homeless but present themselves, together with other members of their household, to the housing authority. The numbers of people within households accepted as homeless by local authorities under the Housing Act 1985 in the quarter ended 30 June 1991 are given in the following table:
