§ Mrs. ChalkerAt its third session in Geneva in August and September, the preparatory committee began preparing a statement of principles on the management and conservation of the world's forests. It is expected that the statement of principles will be finalised at the final session of the preparatory committee in New York in March 1992, and that it will be endorsed by world leaders at the United Nations conference on environment and development in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992.
