§ Mr. Peter LloydThe Receiver for the Metropolitan police district, the Avon and Somerset and the Merseyside county councils were the relevant compensation authorities for claims under the Riot (Damages) Act 1886 arising from the disorders in Brixton, Bristol and Toxteth in 1981. The Home Office was not involved in the processing of claims.
