§ Mr. ReesTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will arrange for the control times on pelican crossings to be lengthened.
§ Mr. ChopeThe timing of phases at crossings is set on the basis of traffic and pedestrian flows and the width and layout of the crossing. Trials have been carried out with new equipment that provides for the length of the pedestrian crossing phase to meet demand. The results of these trials are being evaluated.
