To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he has any plans to introduce legislation to require all public limited company auditors signing the audit report to state whether the firm within the preceding five years has been criticised by his Department's inspectors.

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry following the provisions of the Companies Act 1989, from what date auditing firms will be able to set up limited liability companies.

Since 1 October there has been no statutory bar on the appointment of a limited liability company as a company auditor provided it is eligible for appointment under the rules of its recognised supervisory body.
