To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the current financial subvention made to Northern Ireland; and if he will break it down into the relevant parts of the economy that benefit.

[holding answer 14 November 1991]: The figures for the subvention from the United Kingdom to Northern Ireland for 1990–91 are as follows:

The grant in aid is a general contribution to revenue and is not hypothecated to any particular area of public expenditure.
