HC Deb 15 November 1991 vol 198 c712W
Mr. Spearing

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list any proposal in the matters being considered by the intergovernmental conferences on economic, monetary and political union which are directly or indirectly relevant to the common agricultural policy; and if he will list the changes envisaged in the relevant articles of the present treaty of Rome.

Mr. Curry

No changes to title II (Agriculture) of the treaty of Rome are being considered by the intergovernmental conferences. However, the administration of the common agricultural policy will be affected by the United Kingdom proposals, accepted by the conference, to strengthen financial accountability and compliance with judgments of the European Court of Justice.
