To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many British military personnel have been killed in southern Africa during the last five years; and what were the circumstances of their deaths.

There have been four deaths since 1 January 1986; a staff sergeant was killed in a climbing accident in Botswana in February 1986; two corporals were killed in a road traffic accident in Namibia in March 1989; a sergeant died in a further road traffic accident in Zimbabwe in September 1990.
