§ Mr. RidleyTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what he expects the United Kingdom's gross contribution to the European Community budget to be in 1991–92 and in 1992–93, respectively.
§ Mr. Norman LamontThe United Kingdom's gross contribution, after abatement, (but excluding receipts) to the European Community budget is forecast to be £3,827 million in 1991–92 and £5,397 million in 1992–93. The contribution in 1991–92 is lower than it would otherwise have been as a result of a refund of earlier years' contributions and higher than usual abatement.
