Whether it is still the case, as they declared to the House of Commons Select Committee on Defence during their inquiry into the Statement on the Defence Estimates (H.C. Paper 495, Session 1987–88, p. xxvii), that they "attach great importance to the ABM Treaty".
§ The Earl of ArranThe Government are fully convinced that the 1972 ABM Treaty has been a valuable source of stability.
