HC Deb 13 November 1991 vol 198 c596W
21. Mr. Maclennan

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he proposes to create environmentally sensitive areas in Caithness and Sutherland.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The Government believe that environmentally sensitive areas offer significant benefits to farming and conservation. My right hon. Friend intends to designate further areas in Scotland and has sought advice from his statutory advisers. He will announce the new areas in due course.
