§ Mr. WorthingtonTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what he estimates to be the costs to the further education colleges under the provisions of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Bill of providing for themselves support such as architectural, legal and financial services previously provided by local authorities.
§ Mr. Michael Forsyth[holding answer 11 November 1991]: Expenditure by education authorities on administration and support services for further education colleges will be included in the funds transferred to the Secretary of State's budget for funding the colleges. An element for these services will be included in the grant to colleges who will be free to purchase them from the most cost-effective source.
