To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the operation of the city technology college programme.

The CTC programme is forging ahead. We now have thirteen CTCs open and running with a further two due to open in the next two years. Our expenditure plans provide for a start to be made on extending the benefits of the programme more widely through the education service.
