§ Mr. AshtonTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) when he intends to announce his decision on the proposed byelaws submitted to him by Bassetlaw district council regarding the transport of noxious waste; and if he will make a statement;
(2) when his Department expects to reply to the last five letters from Bassetlaw district council from 4 June 1990 to 19 September 1991 concerning the adoption of byelaws under section 82 of the Public Health Act 1936 relating to the transportation of noxious substances arid removal through streets of offensive matter or liquid.
§ Mr. BaldryThe council was informed on 3 October that as much priority as possible was being given to its application given the present very high workload on the part of my Department which is responsible for local environmental issues.
