(2) when he intends to introduce MOT test standards based on conformity of production emission limits; and if he intends to use these in roadside spotcheck programmes.
§ Mr. ChopeThe current United Kingdom conformity of production standard for CO emission from petrolengined vehicles is 4.5 per cent. which is 1 per cent. more than the type approval standard to allow for manufacturing tolerance. This is the same as in the EC. These are the standards to which we are testing.
