§ Mr. MacdonaldTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the masts or towers over 500 ft tall owned by his Department which have been fitted with white strobe lights to conform to the recommendations of the Civil Aviation Authority, and the similar installations without such strobe lights.
§ Mr. Archie HamiltonThe only mast owned by the MOD and over 500 ft tall to have been fitted with this type of hazard beacon is that at Aird Uig on the Isle of Lewis. The small number of remaining masts will be fitted as and when the existing obstacle lights become due for replacement.
