§ Mr. John PattenThe Extradition Act 1989 came into effect on 27 September 1989 and the United Kingdom ratified the European convention on extradition on 13 February 1991. It came into effect in the United Kingdom on 14 May 1991. The protocols to the convention have not been ratified.
