§ Mr. BaldryThe Water Act 1989 already prohibits water companies from fixing their charges wholly or partly by reference to rateable value after the year 2000. It is for individual companies to choose their preferred alternative method of charging, in the light of guidance which the Director General of Water Services will be issuing following his consultation exercise.
