§ The Attorney-GeneralOn 13 September I informed the Chairman of the Select Committee on Trade and Industry that some further inquiries would be necessary before a firm view could be reached about possible criminality of those mentioned by the hon. Member. On the same day the Director of Public Prosecutions asked the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police to undertake those inquiries. The police report is awaited.

§ The Attorney-GeneralA report has not yet been received by the Crown Prosecution Service; the Metropolitan police are conducting their inquiries as quickly as the circumstances allow and will submit a report as soon as possible.
