HC Deb 06 November 1991 vol 198 cc170-1W
1990. Mr. David Clark

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the hectarage, number of holdings and numbers of tenants of agricultural land owned by his Ministry in each region in Scotland in(a) 1980 and (b)

Mr. Michael Forsyth

Information relating to agricultural land owned by the Secretary of State is set out in table 1. The Scottish Office Agriculture and Fisheries Department has provided information relating to the Highland Estates for 1983 and 1990. Prior to 1983 the detail was not held in the format requested. In the case of the lowland estates records were never held in that format. Consequently the information in respect of the lowland estates is presented in summary form.

Relevant information provided by the Forestry Commission is presented in summary form separately in table 2.

1 The number of holdings/lets may differ slightly from the number of "tenants" because of multiple tenancies.
