§ Mr. WaldegraveThe key aim of the charter is to improve the service provided to patients. Patients will be clear what their rights are under the national health service. They will know the standards of service they can expect to receive and what to do and who to contact if standards of service do not meet expectations. They will also be encouraged to give their views on services to help the NHS to do even better in the future.
