§ Mr. WaldegraveThe total amount available for net revenue spending on hospital, community health, family health and related services in 1991–92 is £17.96 billion. Of this, the main population based allocation for the 14 regional health authorities (RHAs) is £14.85 billion. RHAs will also receive special allocations such as the service increment for teaching, and increased support for centrally financed initiatives such as the AIDS programe, project 2000 and 100 consultants.
The table shows the main population based allocations for the 14 RHAs over the past 10 years. These are given at current cash levels and at 1991–92 cash levels using the GDP deflator, and demonstrate a real term increase over the period of 23 per cent.
