HC Deb 21 May 1991 vol 191 c419W
Mr. David Howell

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will now change the arrangements for the issue of visas to Polish citizens wishing to come to the United Kingdom, so that visas can be obtained by post instead of requiring personal attendance at the British embassy in Warsaw to obtain the necessary documents.

Mr. Lennox-Floyd

It is possible for anyone to apply for a visa without personal attendance, by using the services of Orbis or another recognised travel agent. This is safer and more reliable then the postal service, and the cost is comparable with that of registered mail.
