To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what are the statutory arrangements for monitoring the work of insolvency practitioners.

Mr. Redwood

The insolvency service monitors the estate accounting of insolvency practitioners to seek to ensure that funds are paid into the insolvency services account by them in accordance with the legislation. The insolvency service also monitors compliance by insolvency practitioners with the requirements to report on the conduct of directors under the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986.
