§ Mr. YeoThe Building Research Establishment environmental assessment method—BREEAM—was developed by the BRE in association with private sector interests and launched in July 1990. It is a method by which the environmental impact of new office buildings can be assessed against defined criteria at design stage and, where appropriate, improved. The scheme is voluntary and its operation self-financing. I welcome this collaborative initiative by the Building Research Establishment and the firms associated with it.
