Rosyth and Devonport Dockyards (Hansard, 16 May 1991)

Mr. O'Neill
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what assessment has been made of the future employment prospects of employees at the Rosyth and Devonport dockyards.

§ Mr. Kenneth Carlisle
Levels of employment at Devonport and Rosyth royal dockyards are a matter for the commercial judgment of the management companies. The companies are kept informed about the Ministry of Defence's expected refitting programme.

Mr. O'Neill
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what discussions have taken place with his NATO counterparts regarding the future of Rosyth naval base.
