HC Deb 16 May 1991 vol 191 cc266-7W
Dr. Godman

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will detail the main training programmes and number of places involved for each of the past three years on offer to(a) the citizens of Greenock and Port Glasgow and (b) individuals in Inverclyde who suffer from mental and physical handicaps; what changes in such training provision are planned in the current financial year; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Allan Stewart

The Government's main training programmes, employment training and youth training, offer equality of access and treatment to all eligible people regardless of race, religion, sex or disability. Information about the number of employment training and youth training places on offer to eligible people in Greenock, Port Glasgow and Inverclyde during the last three years is not available separately. Training provision in the current financial year is a matter for Scottish Enterprise; and I have asked the chairman to write to the hon. Member.
