Mr. Mellor

Interest rates will continue to be set at levels which are fully consistent with our commitment to keep sterling within its ERM bands and to bear down on inflation.

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has received from businesses on the effects of high interest rates; and if he will make a statement.
