To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what information his Department holds on interruptions of supply to domestic consumers of each electricity company in England and Wales from each year since 1985–86 up to and including 1990–91.

Under regulation 35 of the Electricity Supply Regulations 1988, every supplier is required to give notice to my Department of supply failures where two days' prior notice to consumers has not been given.

The figures for supply interruptions to all consumers, on a company basis, during the period 1987–88 to 1990–91 are as follows:
