To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will purchase the Mar Lodge estate.

The Government are well aware of the importance of Mar Lodge estate to the longer term management of the Cairngorms. For most of Scotland environmentally sensitive management is secured through private ownership. But we would of course consider, without commitment, any proposition put to us.
