To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the 1991–92 annual budget for the Central Office of Information; and what percentage of that is allocated to staff costs.

[holding answer 14 May 1991]: This question falls within the scope of the policy announced in Cm. 1263: arrangements have therefore been made for the chief executive of the COI to respond direct. Copies of the letter will be placed in the House Library and with the Public Information Office.
