In the light of their performance to date, it should be possible, subject to the views of the Health and Safety Executive's nuclear installations inspectorate, for the lifetime of at least some of the Magnox stations to be extended. The Government will make available funds for any justifiable investment for this purpose.That remains the Government's policy.
