§ Mr. ChopeThe timing of expenditure on each of the 304 major local authority highway schemes currently accepted for transport supplementary grant support, is a matter for the individual authorities concerned. Like most major projects, such schemes may be delayed for a variety of reasons before and after the start of construction.
117WAround 150 new schemes were put forward for transport supplementary grant acceptance last year but, despite a 17 per cent. increase in the overall amount of grant available, it was possible to accept only 35 of them for grant.
