§ Mr. RentonA total of 309 efficiency scrutinies have been completed by Government Departments, in association with the efficiency adviser and the efficiency unit, since 1979, Twenty interdepartmental studies have also been completed over the same period. A number of scrutinies have also been conducted by other public sector organisations according to full scrutiny disciplines and with guidance from the efficiency unit.
