HC Deb 14 May 1991 vol 191 c116W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what contingency plans exist to deal with the accidental downing of aircraft.

Mr. McLoughlin

The responsibility for dealing with any accident that brings an aircraft to earth outside an airport lies with the local emergency services who will have appropriate contingency plans. The Department's air accidents investigation branch is responsible for investigating the cause of the accident.
