HL Deb 13 May 1991 vol 528 c62WA
Baroness Hollis of Heigham

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many replies were received to the consultation paper on simplified planning zones circulated by the Department of the Environment on 31st August 1990, and, of those who expressed a clear preference, how many either supported or opposed each of the three main proposals on: making public participation before deposit optional; removing the requirement to hold a local inquiry; and earlier publication of the notice of intention to adopt schemes.

Baroness Blatch

Fifty-two responses were received. Of those expressing a clear preference, 35 supported and 7 were opposed to the first of the main proposals; 28 supported and 14 were opposed to the second; and 34 supported and 7 were opposed to the third. However, I should stress that, in considering the responses to consultation, we study the content of each response carefully.
