HC Deb 09 May 1991 vol 190 c577W
Mr. Spearing

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what estimate he has made of the numbers and proportions of pensioners who are not receiving their new pension books by the date at which they come into force; and what action he is taking to prevent such occurrences.

Miss Widdecombe

Pension books normally go out three weeks before they are due. Exceptionally, delays may occur in a small number of cases. Detailed figures on such cases are not available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
