§ Mr. MoynihanIn 1990, imports of natural gas from Norway accounted for 13.5 per cent. of total supplies. A small amount—less than 0.1 per cent. of total supplies—of liquefied natural gas was imported from Algeria. I am aware of a number of proposals that might increase this level. In considering any import proposals, the Government will weigh carefully the availability of competitive supplies from the United Kingdom continental shelf and the market opportunities open.
